This may be the silliest fleet choice I've ever heard of. What genius decided that a 40 minute premium config flight on a turbo-prop would actually be a choice people care about? The platform of premium offerings has led to people truly losing their minds. Heck, I've stood in a rental car bus for longer that.

Bora Bora is a high end honeymoon destination. Some of those honeymooners fly business class to PPT and don't want to sit in a tiny ATR Y seat for 40 minutes after a 8.5 hour flight from LAX or SFO.

God help them. It's 40 minutes, lol. A complete absurdity. I'm sure their honeymoon will be just fine. They will probably wait longer for their transfer to the resort. Shall we provide them a golden carriage from the airport to hotel so as to avoid the sun and heat and have young attendees fanning them along the way? I mean, my god, the entire premium thing is becoming completely absurd. Mostly because it's all a smokescreen as to reality.

As P.T. Barnum said (Or Mark Twain, or whoever), "There is a sucker born every minute."

Yes, their honeymoon would be just fine if they flew the very flimsy seats in the current 2-2 setup. And their honeymoon would be just fine if they flew in economy from LAX. And if they chose to visit Portland instead of Bora Bora. And if they chose two days instead of a week. Everything would be fine. But that's not the point. This is an extravagance, a splurge. If someone else wants to do it, why boo their choice? Do you do drink alcohol? Wouldn't your day be just fine if you drank water instead? Wouldn't your day be fine if you stayed in Motel 6 instead of Courtyard?

Not a bad way to create a promotional picture for all your business class seats. Just put an asterisk with a line down the bottom ….”not all aircraft have this cabin”

$500 vs $200 for 161-mile flight? I generally avoid economy, but I would have a hard time paying that much more for a flight that will be in the air 30 minutes. That doesn't make sense.

Just like spending 15k for the a few days in a hotel.
That doesn't make sense.

Exactly. Thats likely why Ive never gone to Tahiti. When I do go, it will definitely have to be way less than $15k for a few nights!

Not only is the pricing ridiculous, the time airborne is short, but only one plane configured thusly. And after all the hours flying to Tahiti just take this plane is bonkers. The view from the ferries is great.

No need to go rush rush. Why did you go to Tahiti in the first place?

The ferries? As in "the ferry from Tahiti to Bora Bora"? Have you tries taking that ferry recently?

Wondering if they will eventually use this for the RAR -> PPT route, which is a little longer but seems to be within range of the aircraft. Might be a better use of the cabin.
