Admittedly this is rather niche given the difficulty of racking up miles in the Miles & More program, but for some time now I’ve been seeing award availability for ~100k miles (+ hefty surcharges) on the JFK-GVA and GVA-JFK routes.
Is this a policy change? I think the common wisdom is that this has long been the “cheapest” route to seek a paid upgrade, and I suspect the cabin is rarely sold out, but it’s still a bit surprising to see Swiss opening up the award availability in their highest cabin, unless this is phantom space?
@enigma09 Very interesting! Do you have a date where you see the availability? I ask because as far as I know, SWISS first class awards don't even show online even if you're a Senator, and I'm not seeing any first class availability on SWISS based on a quick search.
Not phantom space! I was surprised to find LX F available on FRA-ZRH-BLR over Christmas last Wednesday (actually readily available at that time) and immediately snapped up 2 seats. It seems to have disappeared since. I'm only FTL now, and even during my Senator days, I never came across LX First award availability online.
