Hello! Taking my first to ICN in January (I know it's cold - stopover on the way to much warmer places) and wanted to get a better understanding on if there is a best lounge I should target? My wife and I are booked on KE in J and departing in the evening to PQC. I know the garden lounges are the newest, but are they the best? Are any of them more crowded then others and worth avoiding? Appreciate the insights!
Joe, sounds like an awesome trip! I've been to Seoul in winter (while it can be cold, it's not too different from US cities in the winter, like NYC, so, as long as you dress appropriately, you'll be fine.) ICN airport is huge, and I thought it was pretty cool; it seems Ben was not as impressed (that said, he got access to the Korean First lounge ...so, it couldn't have been that bad) With the Korean-Asiana merger, I'm not sure where you'll be at exactly, but Korean recently renovated its business class ("Prestige") lounges in the last year, so either East, West, or Garden should be nice. Since you mentioned concerns over crowding, personally, I preferred the privacy and relative 'quiet' of the back room with the massage chairs at what I believe was the East lounge, when I was there last (2024). If they still have them, I also enjoyed all the Kakao Friends characters around the airport (and city). Safe travels!
