I keep the Citi AA Exec for the 20K LP bonus at 50K and 90K, which have helped me re-qualify for Platinum Pro at 125K for a few years now, and for the unlimited Admirals Club access.

I'm less 'tickled' about the various coupon credits, $120/calendar year prepaid Avis/Budget, $10/mo Grubhub, and $10/mo Lyft after 4 rides (ugh), but I don't like to leave value on the table, so I use 'em.

Once I give up on AA status, I'll product change to Custom Cash, then restart the clock on SUB.

This was... rich: "spending $200,000 on the card"... oh, to afford THAT lifestyle. "Yowzers!"

With mile/LP offers up to 15k per stay with AA hotels (unlocked with any AA status and any AA card), and with this card unlocking a further 12x miles (1x LP and 11x bonus) on spend with AA hotels, it really can be incredibly lucrative from an LP and mileage earning perspective in addition to the 40k LP from the card.

I already have 158,000 AAdvantage loyalty points. I called American Airlines AAdvantage and the agent told me that I would not get the retro bonuses and that I could only earn the extra loyalty points from credit card spending a loan. Not sure if she’s correct on all of that.
