Hyatt are currently running a offer, 5k points for a 5+night stay in Hyatt House/Studios.
I want to book two nights with points and three nights with cash. I could do this using Pay My Way, but for some reason PMW isn't offered for the rate I want to use ("member b+b"), even though it has the same cancellation conditions as a rate ("member rate") that does offer PMW.
Any guesses whether I would get the 5k points if I just made the points and cash bookings separately, or spoke to an agent to make them?

That promo is good, especially if you've got upcoming stays in-mind. I'm no Hyatt expert (lowly Explorist, so feel free to scoff), but pretty sure it would need to be a single reservation for 5+ nights under one confirmation number. If you really want this, yes, try calling an agent to see if they can manually lock it in as a single stay; if not, I'd go with standard 'Member Rate' (not member b+b) using PMW. Up to you. YMMV. Hope it all works out!
I’m currently at a Hyatt Place on a PMW stay using the AAA rate (1 night cash + 2 nights points + 2 nights cash). While they’re all on the same reservation #, I was required to checkout and check-in yesterday after my first night. They kept me in the same room and everything, but I did receive a folio already for the 1st night. Mentioning this because it’s possible the Hyatt House you’re going to will do the same thing and you might miss out on that 5k bonus if it’s treated as a 3 + 2 stay.
I’ll update after my stay is done. For myself it won’t be much of a problem since the only promo I’m going after is the Hyatt Place 2k for every 2 nights.
I’m still on my Hyatt Place stay (check out tomorrow), but here’s what happened so far:
- My first “stay” (Thursday night, paid by cash): credited points and the night on Saturday, then crawled back Monday morning.
- Second stay (Friday-Saturday nights, paid by points): has not been credited yet.
- Third stay (Sunday-Monday nights, paid by cash): currently on.
I misspoke when mentioned the HP 2k for every 2 nights promo, it’s actually 3k for 3 nights. If they credit each stay separately, I guess I wouldn’t be eligible for the 3k by default. I am assuming (hoping) that Hyatt crawled back the Thursday night stay to then fully credit after my 5 nights are complete.
@mickyb Ok final update now that the stay is done. Hyatt's backend clawed back and reposted my stay twice, but once it was done they credited all 5 days into a single posting, so it appears you should get the proper credit for your Hyatt House stay once it's fully completed.
