Based on Buzz Bissinger’s 2022 book The Mosquito Bowl: A Game of Life and Death in World War II and inspired by real events, this upcoming Netflix Original sports drama tells the story of so much more than just the historic titular football game. The film follows four American college football stars (Nicholas Galitzine, Bill Skarsgård, Ray Nicholson, and Tom Francis) who enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps after the attack on Pearl Harbor, forcing them to reconcile their idealistic visions of serving their nation with the brutal, cruel realities of fighting in World War II.
