How Many Episodes Are There Of Widow’s Bay?

Will There Be A Season 2 Of Widow’s Bay? Widow’s Bay Season 2 Renewal Status:
Good news, Widow’s Baes! Ahead of Widow’s Bay’s Season 1 finale, Apple TV announced an early Season 2 renewal, which came as no surprise considering the series regularly ascends to the #1 spot on Apple TV’s Top TV Shows list, and it’s beloved and acclaimed by fans and critics alike, maintaining an impressive 98% Rotten Tomatoes score from 106 professional reviews.
“From the moment audiences arrived in Widow’s Bay, they’ve been hooked on every eerie mystery, unexpected laughs, and cursed secret that Katie, Hiro, Matthew, and the entire team have created,” said Matt Cherniss, Apple TV’s head of programming said in a press release. “It’s become one of those shows everyone’s talking about, and we’re thrilled to see audiences continue to embrace it. We can’t wait to return for another season.”
Creator, showrunner, and executive producer Katie Dippold added, “Season 2 is about how everything is great on the island and there’s nothing to worry about.” Plus, Apple TV announced a new, multi-year overall deal with Dippold. This news is better than Martha’s Vineyard!
When Does Widow’s Bay Season 2 Come Out on Apple TV? Widow’s Bay Season 2 Release Date Info:
While there’s no official Widow’s Bay Season 2 premiere date on the books yet, we may have an idea of when the sophomore season is aiming to film thanks to Kate O’Flynn.
In a recent interview with Collider at the Toronto International Film Festival, O’Flynn said she knew “Zip” about Season 2, but added, “I know it’s hopefully March time, I think, we might be filming Season 2. But I don’t know anything else about it, honestly.”
As Decider previously reported, Widow’s Bay Season 1 was primarily filmed in Massachusetts, in areas including Gloucester, Rockport, and the North Shore. Filming reportedly took place from May to August 2025, with an April 2026 release date. So if Season 2 filming kicks off a bit earlier, hopefully there’s a world in which new episodes could arrive in late 2027 rather than early 2028.
We’ll be sure to bring you more Widow’s Bay Season 2 updates when we learn more!
Widow’s Bay Emmys Count: How Many Emmys Did Widow’s Bay Win?
After dominating the 2026 Emmys with a whopping 19 nominations, Widow’s Bay won big, taking home eight early wins at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards and six wins during Monday’s Primetime ceremony for a record-breaking total of 14 wins for the show — the most of any comedy series in a single year. The win is especially impressive because only the first seven of ten Season 1 episodes were eligible for 2026 voting. That means the standout Episode 8 and the incredible finale weren’t taken into consideration this time around. So perhaps Widow’s Bay will take home some more gold during the 2027 Emmy Awards.
