About us

Now in its 95th year of continuous service, Hawaiian is Hawaiʻi's largest and longest-serving airline. Hawaiian offers approximately 150 daily flights within the Hawaiian Islands, and nonstop flights between Hawaiʻi and 15 U.S. gateway cities – more than any other airline – as well as service connecting Honolulu and American Samoa, Australia, Cook Islands, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea and Tahiti. Consumer surveys by Condé Nast Traveler and TripAdvisor have placed Hawaiian among the top of all domestic airlines serving Hawaiʻi. The carrier was named Hawaiʻi's best employer by Forbes in 2022 and has topped Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best list as the No. 1 U.S. airline for the past two years. Hawaiian has also led all U.S. carriers in on-time performance for 18 consecutive years (2004-2021) as reported by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Hawaiian Airlines, Inc. is a subsidiary of Hawaiian Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: HA). Additional information is available at HawaiianAirlines.com. From sustainability executive to airline CEO: Diana Birkett Rakow is joining the GreenBiz 27 keynote program! As CEO of Hawaiian Airlines and executive vice president for Alaska Airlines, Diana is navigating aviation decarbonization while helping bring two airlines together, a transition that puts business strategy, sustainability, culture and brand to the test. This year, we’re asking every main stage speaker: How do you see the middle? The middle of a career, of a company’s climate goals, of the sustainability profession itself. For Diana, the answer centers on one word: kuleana, a Hawaiian word for responsibility. She’ll join Trellis’ Jim Giles for an honest conversation about what it takes to carry that responsibility through the middle of change and how her experience leading sustainability informs her leadership as CEO. Join us at GreenBiz 27, February 23–25, 2027, at the Gaylord Pacific Resort in San Diego. Meet Diana and explore the keynote program: https://lnkd.in/g4eWQYYc #GreenBiz27 #Sustainability

We were proud to be a sponsor for Bloomberg Green at New York Climate Week, where our Managing Director of Sustainability, Ryan Spies, joined the conversation about the future of sustainable aviation fuel. After the event, Ryan caught up with Bloomberg Live to share how Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines are working to help scale SAF for the future. Achieving the scale needed to put aviation on a lower-carbon flight path will take continued investment, innovation and collaboration across the industry. Hear what Ryan had to say in the video below.

I think you're going to like what's next. Over the past two years, we've brought Alaska and Hawaiian together, launched Atmos Rewards™ and expanded our global network, all while running the most on-time airline in the U.S. Today, we're unveiling the next chapter in our plan. For Alaska Airlines, it’s Aurora – our highest expression of the brand and an end-to-end premium experience spanning private check-in, Lounges, dining and lie-flat Suites. We’re bringing Aurora Suites to our 787s and, for the first time, a true suite-style experience to transcontinental flying on at least 25 new 737-10s. For Hawaiian Airlines, it’s Leihōkū – the most elevated expression of the Hawaiian Airlines brand. Guests will have dedicated check-in and access to a new Lounge in Honolulu, redesigned cabins on our entire A330 fleet including new lie-flat Leihōkū Suites, plus dining and amenities. There’s much more in today’s announcements, including Premium Reserve, new Lounges and more ways to engage with Atmos Rewards. We plan to raise the experience no matter which seat you are in – through the care our teams provide, the food we serve, the technology we offer and all the details that add up along the way. It’s a transformational moment, and I’m incredibly proud of our teams who are building it and delivering it.

We’re proud to support the next generation of aviation leaders and inspire young women to dream big, explore new possibilities and soar high. 🌺✈️

  • This National Aviation Day, we’re celebrating the many ways our team members bring their love of aviation to life on the job and beyond. By day, Ashton S. helps keep Hawaiian Airlines' aircraft cabins in top shape, designing, maintaining and troubleshooting cabin systems as a Honolulu-based interior engineer. By night, he builds detailed replicas of the airline’s most iconic aircraft from his dining room table, one LEGO brick at a time. Now through Oct. 11, Oʻahu visitors can experience his hobby up close by exploring the Bishop Museum’s “Aloha Bricks” exhibit, where five of his custom-built LEGO aircraft models are on display. The models pay homage to five aircraft types that played pivotal roles in Hawaiian’s nearly century-long history: the 1929 Bellanca CH-300 Pacemaker, a Douglas DC-3 and DC-9, a Boeing 717 and 787 Dreamliner. Ashton built his five LEGO aircraft by hand and spent over 180 hours completing the Hawaiian Airlines models at the museum. Each model is made of thousands of LEGO bricks, and Ashton estimates the “Aloha Bricks” display totals more than 1 million pieces, with his most ambitious build, the 787 Dreamliner, comprising more than 10,000 parts. We’re proud to celebrate team members like Ashton, whose creativity and love for flying continue to inspire future builders, engineers and aviation enthusiasts.
