George Clooney called Presley Gerber’s death last month “the worst thing that could ever happen with family” in his first comments on the tragedy.

“Quite honestly, it’s one of the most devastating things that’s happened to our family,” Clooney told Entertainment Tonight at the Albies on Friday evening.

“And their family is just … as you can imagine.”

George’s wife, human rights attorney Amal Clooney, stood alongside her husband as he made the heartfelt comments.

Clooney and his wife are longtime friends with the famous family — Presley’s parents are supermodel Cindy Crawford and George’s business partner, Rande Gerber.

Together, Rande and George co-founded tequila brand Casamigos, and their families have remained friends for decades.

Presley died on Sept 20 of an apparent overdose while staying at a luxurious sober living facility in Santa Monica, Los Angeles.

A family rep told Page Six in a statement at the time that the family hoped for “privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”

Sources also told Page Six that Presley had checked into the Resolutions Living facility the same weekend he was pronounced dead and was said to have been found in a bedroom.

Dispatch audio obtained by Page Six indicated that first responders were notified of a “cardiac arrest” and “overdose.”

Days later, footage surfaced of the model filming himself in the facility in the hours before his death.

An insider divulged to us that Presley had “seemed off” prior to the tragedy, and a separate source explained to us last month that Presley’s only sibling, Kaia Gerber, 25, was struggling to come to terms with her older brother’s death.

“Kaia and Presley were insanely close,” they told us of Presley and the “Shards” actress. “I don’t know how she’s going to go on without him.”

According to a source for the Daily Mail, Kaia called Clooney “Uncle George,” and said the “O Brother, Where Art Thou” actor “would spend hours talking to Presley.”

The “Ocean’s 11” actor also “shared loving notes like, ‘I am here for you,’ that kind of stuff,” they said.

They added, “George is the nicest guy in the world and would do anything to help Rande’s family.”

An insider told Page Six, meanwhile, that the Oscar winner is “completely shattered by Presley’s death.” They added, “He’s known him his entire life, and he never imagined things would ever get to this point.”

The source insisted to us that George is “committed to being there for Cindy and Rande, not just right now but in the months and years ahead.”
