Sri Lanka DMC for Tailor-Made Private Travel | Trusted by International Airline Crews

About us

Airlines Crew Tours (ACT Sri Lanka) is a Sri Lanka-based Destination Management Company specializing in tailor-made private journeys and small-group travel across Sri Lanka. Since 2019, our operational foundation has been shaped by serving international airline crews, where precision, punctuality and last-minute adaptability are essential. We are trusted by travellers and crew members from 17 international airlines, and this same operational discipline supports every journey we plan. ACT Sri Lanka focuses on carefully designed, experience-driven travel rather than mass tourism. We create itineraries around each client’s interests, travel style, pace and expectations, combining Sri Lanka’s culture, nature, wildlife, local experiences and carefully selected accommodation. We work directly with international travellers and with overseas travel agencies and tour operators seeking a dependable local DMC partner in Sri Lanka. Our B2B support focuses on responsive communication, tailor-made itinerary development, reliable on-ground coordination and consistent service delivery. We are not positioned as a volume-based or budget tour operator. Our focus is personal service, flexibility and well-planned private and small-group journeys supported by strong local knowledge. Responsible tourism is integrated into our approach. We work with local communities and carefully selected partners, support authentic local experiences and aim to create long-term value within the destinations our guests visit. ACT Sri Lanka has operated since 2019 and has been registered with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority since 2022. We follow responsible tourism practices and hold Good Travel Seal Level 1.

  • Sri Lanka Itinerary Planning: Beyond the Standard Tour When someone asks me to plan a journey through Sri Lanka, I usually don't begin by asking which places they want to visit. I first try to understand how they imagine their journey. What do they really want to experience? What interests them? How do they like to travel? And what do they hope to remember when they return home? Over the years, I have learned that a good itinerary is not simply a collection of beautiful places. Sri Lanka may look small on a map, but travelling here has its own realities. Road conditions, traffic, mountain routes, weather and actual travelling times can completely change how a journey feels. A beautiful itinerary on paper means very little if it does not work well in reality. I also believe an itinerary needs space to breathe. Not every hour needs an activity. There should be time to enjoy a meal without watching the clock, stop somewhere unexpected, speak with someone along the way, enjoy a view, or simply live in the moment. For me, experiencing Sri Lanka also means going beyond the attractions. Our history, wildlife, beaches and landscapes are wonderful. But so much of Sri Lanka can also be found in our food, everyday life, traditions, small communities and the hospitality of our people. Sometimes quieter experiences can become particularly memorable. A walk through Ritigala surrounded by forest. An early morning in Kanneliya. A quieter wildlife experience around Lahugala. These places do not need to replace Sigiriya, Kandy, Galle or the other places travellers dream of seeing. It is about finding the right balance for each journey. The same thinking applies to wildlife. I would rather see an animal behaving naturally than see a line of jeeps chasing it for a photograph. We don't promote elephant rides, and I believe wildlife experiences should respect the animals we have travelled to see. Working in destination management has also taught me the importance of being honest. If an itinerary looks good on paper but I know part of it will be difficult or unrealistic on the ground, I believe my responsibility is to explain why and suggest a practical alternative. Sometimes saying, “Yes, we can do it” is easy. Giving truthful local advice is more valuable. And when a journey finally ends, I don't think the longest list of visited places is necessarily what matters most. Maybe someone remembers a sunrise. A meal. A beautiful landscape. Someone's genuine smile. The kindness of people they met. Or simply a moment when they felt completely happy to be where they were. Those moments cannot always be planned. But I believe we can design journeys that leave enough room for them to happen. That is what a meaningful journey through Sri Lanka means to me. What is the one moment from a journey that has stayed with you long after you returned home? #sriLankatravel #tailormadetravel #destinationmanagement #responsibletourism

  • Sometimes responsible tourism begins with something as small as a bee. 🐝🌿 Among Sri Lanka’s forests, small scale beekeeping offers a simple example of how tourism, local livelihoods and healthy ecosystems can exist alongside one another. Bees play an important role in pollination, biodiversity and the natural regeneration of the landscapes around us. But for travellers, witnessing practices like these can offer something equally valuable: a deeper understanding of the relationship between local people and the environment they depend upon. At ACT Sri Lanka, we believe responsible tourism is not defined only by where we take our travellers. It is also defined by who we choose to work with, what kinds of experiences we support and what travellers learn from the places they visit. That is why we continue to seek out smaller, locally rooted experiences that allow our guests to discover a side of Sri Lanka beyond the conventional tourism circuit. Not every meaningful tourism experience needs to be a famous attraction. Sometimes it can be a forest, a local practice, a conversation or even a single honeycomb that helps a traveller understand a destination differently. For us, this is part of building better tourism in Sri Lanka: tourism that respects nature, values local knowledge, supports communities and gives travellers a more meaningful connection with the destination. 🌱 Small scale. Local. Educational. Responsible. Maulie de Saram #ResponsibleTourism #SustainableTourism #SriLankaTourism #ACTSriLanka #DestinationManagement #DMC #Biodiversity #CommunityTourism

  • Today, on World Elephant Day, we celebrate one of Sri Lanka’s most extraordinary symbols of nature, heritage and wilderness. 🐘🌿 For us in tourism, protecting elephants is more than conservation. It means respecting their natural habitats, supporting responsible wildlife experiences and ensuring that tourism contributes positively to the communities that live alongside them. At Airlines Crew Tours Sri Lanka, we believe the best wildlife encounter is one that leaves the animals undisturbed and the traveller more connected to nature. Protect wildlife. Respect their space. Travel thoughtfully. Because Sri Lanka’s elephants belong in the wild, for generations to come. #WorldElephantDay #SriLanka #SriLankaTourism #ResponsibleTourism #WildlifeConservation #Elephants #SustainableTourism #TravelSriLanka #AirlinesCrewTours #ACTSriLanka

  • 🌿 Celebrating Poson Poya Day Today, Sri Lanka commemorates Poson Poya, one of the most significant days in our history. More than 2,000 years ago, Arahat Mahinda Thero met King Devanampiyatissa at Mihintale, introducing Buddhism to Sri Lanka. This historic encounter shaped not only our spiritual heritage but also the values that continue to define our nation. Compassion. Kindness. Respect. Generosity. These timeless principles are deeply woven into the warmth and hospitality that visitors experience when they travel across Sri Lanka today. At Airlines Crew Tours, we are privileged to share not only the breathtaking landscapes of our island but also the culture, traditions, and heritage that make Sri Lanka truly unique. On this sacred day, we extend our warm wishes to everyone celebrating Poson Poya. May this occasion bring peace, wisdom, and harmony to all. 🙏 Happy Poson Poya Day. #PosonPoya #SriLanka #CulturalHeritage #Tourism #Hospitality

  • 🌿 Some places deserve more than a quick visit. In today's world, it's easy to travel fast. Visit a landmark. Take a photo. Move on to the next stop. But the places people remember most are usually the ones where they slowed down. The sound of a waterfall. A quiet morning in the mountains. A conversation with a local. A moment when there was no schedule to follow. At Airlines Crew Tours, we believe great travel isn't about seeing more. It's about experiencing more. That's why every journey we create is tailored to the traveler's interests, pace, and curiosity. Because every destination has a story. The question is... will you have time to discover it? 👇 When you travel, do you prefer to explore slowly or see as much as possible? #travelindustry #tailormadetravel #srilanka #customerexperience #tourism

  • 🌍 Over the years in tourism, we have learned an important lesson. People rarely buy what you sell. They buy how it makes them feel. 🐘 Nobody buys a safari. They buy excitement. 🌊 Nobody buys a beach. They buy peace. ⛰️ Nobody buys a mountain view. They buy inspiration. ✨ And nobody buys a tour. They buy memories that stay with them long after they return home. This principle extends far beyond tourism. Whether you're in travel, hospitality, technology, finance, or any other industry, people connect with experiences, emotions, and outcomes more than products themselves. At Airlines Crew Tours, we believe the most meaningful journeys are not measured by the number of places visited, but by the moments that become part of someone's story. 📍 What does your business really sell? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments. #customerexperience #travelindustry #tourism #businessgrowth #srilanka

Creating Meaningful Impact Through Responsible Tourism Today, we are excited to share the impact that our travelers, partners, communities, and team helped create together over the past year. As a small Sri Lankan destination management company, we believe tourism should create benefits not only for travelers, but also for local communities, nature, and small businesses. Over the past year, together with our guests, partners, guides, homestay hosts, and suppliers, we have supported rural school children, engaged local communities, promoted authentic family-run accommodations, contributed to conservation efforts, and invested in more sustainable tourism practices. A sincere thank you to: • Our travelers who chose to travel responsibly • Our international partners and agents for their trust • Our guides, drivers, and team members for their dedication • Our homestay hosts, suppliers, and community partners • Import Promotion Desk (IPD) Germany for their continued support and guidance These results may represent small numbers, but behind every number are real people, real communities, and real stories. The "off season" is a myth we created. Our island doesn't have one season, it gives us all the seasons As an industry, let's change the narrative together. Promote the sun where it shines. The waves where they break. The hills when they're lush. Sri Lanka is always in season Join the movement. Love Sri Lanka, Always.
