Today marks an exciting milestone for Southwest Airlines as we launch a first-of-its-kind plugin in ChatGPT. Customer expectations continue to evolve, and we’re making travel planning easier and meeting people where they are. As more travelers turn to AI to discover, research, and plan trips, we have an opportunity to extend the Hospitality that Southwest is known for. This plugin is one example of how we’re using technology to create better experiences for our Customers today while building for the future. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible through a shared focus on our Customers, including OpenAI and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Take a look at the tool in action below! • She came to Southwest Headquarters to be a Pilot for a Day… but there was a much bigger surprise waiting. 🥹✈️ Lorelai suited up, explored our Headquarters, and even took the controls of a flight simulator! But nothing could prepare her for her final mission: finding out that she and her family are officially going on the 2026 Kidd's Kids trip! This Pilot for a Day is headed on one pretty special adventure. 💙❤️💛 For 20 years, we've partnered with Kidd’s Kids to create unforgettable memories for deserving kids and their families. • One of the longest-tenured Pilots in Southwest history flew his final flight. ✈️ When reflecting on nearly four decades with Southwest, Captain Mike Brucklier spoke most about the relationships built along the way, describing Southwest as his "Family away from family." Surrounded by his own hand-picked Crew, who dressed up to help celebrate the occasion, Mike's sendoff was a reminder that while a career may be measured in years, it's the People who make the journey matter. Thank you, Captain Brucklier, for the miles, the memories, and the legacy you've built over 39 years with Southwest. We wish you clear skies and plenty of Nonrev adventures ahead. 💙❤️💛

The project to replace the terminal at Hollywood Burbank Airport is one that has been near and dear to my heart. Since Southwest began service in May 1990, BUR has been more than a place to catch a flight. It's been a gateway for a community that values the joy of travel and the convenience of getting where one needs to go. With the opening of this new terminal, that spirit carries forward. It enhances the travel experience while preserving the character that has made Burbank so special for generations. For Southwest Airlines, it's also an opportunity to build on a relationship with this community that spans nearly four decades while showcasing the next chapter of our Customer experience, from refreshed spaces and new products to our newer, larger, quieter, and more fuel-efficient aircraft. Of course, a terminal is only the backdrop. The real story is the People who bring it to life every day. Our Employees are the reason Customers have trusted Southwest in Burbank for so many years, and they'll continue delivering the warm, friendly Hospitality that makes this airport and this community special. A tremendous thank you to everyone involved in bringing this project to life ahead of schedule. Flights begin operating from the new terminal on October 13, and we can't wait to welcome Customers into this incredible new space.

  • For over a decade, Ryker's family has flown with Southwest to connect him to life-changing care. ✈️ Born with a rare medical condition, Ryker has spent the last decade traveling from Kansas to Boston to receive specialized treatment. Every trip requires special equipment and accommodations. Through the Southwest Airlines Medical Flight Network, our one-of-a-kind grant program that donates flights to hospitals and medical transportation charities, families like Ryker's can access the care they need. We're grateful for partners like Children's Flight of Hope who help make these journeys possible. Over the years, Ryker and his family have flown more than 60 times, experiencing the Southwest Hospitality, care, and support that make every journey a little easier. Whether he's greeting Customers, complimenting our Crew, or sharing his Team Ryker bracelets, Ryker has become a bright spot on every flight. Here's to Ryker, his resilience, and the People and partners who help make stories like his possible. 💙❤️💛 To learn more about the Medical Flight Network, visit https://lnkd.in/e78fKzNi

  • There’s nothing quite like having your biggest fans there for life's biggest moments. 🥹💙❤️💛 First Officer Tyler recently took to the skies for his first flight as a Southwest Pilot, but not before his wife and 3-year-old daughter surprised him to mark the occasion. Behind so many career milestones are the people who supported the journey to get there. We’re glad his biggest supporters could be there for the start of this next chapter. ✈️

  • For Southwest Flight Attendant Kelli Jo, this was more than another day at work. It was the first time she got to work a flight alongside her daughter, First Officer Mallory. ✈️ Years after Kelli Jo began her own Southwest journey, she watched Mallory become part of the same Southwest Family. “I was just all smiles the whole day and a proud momma! I still can’t believe my baby girl is part of ‘OUR’ Family and that she is my ‘PILOT’ flying me around!” From one generation of Southwest Employees to the next, this is one flight they won’t soon forget. 💙❤️💛

  • Every Customer has a story. On a recent flight, our Flight Attendant announced a special one: Les was on his way to Montana to fulfill a lifelong dream of visiting a dude ranch! 🤠 It was a reminder that Hospitality is about more than great service. It's celebrating the moments that bring people onboard in the first place. 💙❤️💛
