Exactly 22 years ago today, our fleet took on a new look, as we introduced the visual identity we all recognise today 💚 It was built around two symbolic colors: green for the Baltic spring and navy blue for the Baltic Sea. Along with this transformation, Air Baltic rebranded as airBaltic – one word, one vision. More than two decades later, our signature colours remain a proud part of who we are, carrying a little piece of the Baltics wherever we fly ✈️

In September 2026, airBaltic carried 474 000 passengers across its network, maintaining passenger volumes at the same level as in September last year. During the month, we operated 4 387 flights, up 2.5% year-on-year. The load factor was 79.4%, a decrease of 1.6 percentage points compared with September 2025, primarily due to increased capacity year-on-year. 💡 Read more: go.airbaltic.com/90yLvGh

👀 Ever wondered what that cable between the flight coordinator and the aircraft is actually for? They connect to the aircraft’s interphone with a headset cable, giving them a direct line to the pilots during ground operations. On a busy apron, a wired connection is simple and reliable, without relying on a wireless signal. It helps coordinate key moments like pushback and engine start, confirm the area around the aircraft is clear, and keep the flight deck and ground team in sync. So, that’s the real meaning behind the cable… and yes, we’re aware that pretending the coordinator is taking the Airbus for a walk is a much more fun explanation 🐕

Today marks 31 years since airBaltic’s first flight ✈️ In 1995, we flew to just four destinations: Stockholm, Helsinki, London and Frankfurt. Over the years, our network has expanded, and more than 70 million passengers have travelled with us along the way. Yet one thing has always remained – our commitment to making the wider world easier to reach. Thank you for being part of it and for choosing to fly with airBaltic! 💚 📸 Opening photo by Toms Bokums

Dear Tallinn Airport (TLL), 90 years come with quite a story. Our first shared memory goes back to 1996, when a 33-seat airBaltic Saab 340 touched down in Tallinn for the first time. We may still be the youngster here, but we’re proud to have already been part of a third of your story, and we’re happy to keep writing it together. Today, during the summer season, we connect Riga and Tallinn up to five times a day, while travellers also enjoy our direct services from Tallinn, with Amsterdam being the most travelled destination after Riga. And since YL-CSJ joined our fleet in 2019 wearing its Estonian flag-inspired livery, it has been getting a little extra attention from spotters and Tallinn Airport guests 🇪🇪 And perhaps what we appreciate most are the people who give Tallinn Airport that warm, cosy feeling every time we land. Happy birthday to the whole team! 💚

✈️ The Baltics are our home – and keeping our region reliably connected with the world is at the heart of what we do. That means building a network around the needs of the region: connecting people directly to key destinations, providing the frequencies they need, and opening up even more of the world through Riga and our airline partners. But what does it actually take to build a well-connected network, and how can connectivity be measured? In the latest episode of airBaltic Explains, we look at how connectivity works in practice, and why it is so important for the Baltics 🌍 A big thank you to Raimonds Gruntins, Director Regional Affairs Europe at the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and our Network Planning Analyst Ansis Bernards for sharing their expertise and insights!

✈️ A new guest in our hangar – an AnimaWings Airbus A220-300 for maintenance at airBaltic. Our technical team has worked with the Airbus A220-300 for nearly ten years, building strong in-house maintenance expertise. We are glad to put that know-how to use in providing maintenance services to another A220-300 operator. Partnerships like this also show that the aviation expertise built here in Riga, Latvia is valued beyond our own fleet and can support the wider aviation industry.
