Would be huge. Though I am fine via email. I was thinking of doing a 30min zoom icebreaker with ya since you seem active on DEV, though I am not sure about your availability since I know yall are busy. What do you think? (Also just to prove to you I am real lol).

Another solid month, man! Huge CONGRATS on the WFH, and good luck with the portfolio. Just ship it before Future Francis moves it to October again. 😭 Keep the reports coming! ♥️

Nice progress this month, Francis! I like that you’re treating the monthly reports as a running record rather than just a list of things you completed. Looking back across the 8 parts should make the progress pretty interesting to see.

The Git CLI goal is definitely worth sticking with too. Once the common commands become muscle memory, it makes a lot of everyday Git work feel much faster.

And good luck with the portfolio getting it published for review is probably more valuable than waiting until it feels “finished.” Real feedback usually reveals things you wouldn’t notice yourself.

For September, I’d add one small goal around building or shipping something practical, even if it’s tiny. It gives you something concrete to look back on alongside the learning and community activity.

Keep the reports going. Consistency over a year is where these kinds of dev journals really start becoming useful.

I like the idea of keeping these monthly reports as a running record rather than trying to make each month look impressive. The combination of accomplishments, unfinished goals, and next steps makes the progress much easier to follow over time. Also, publishing the portfolio for feedback before it feels completely finished could be a great way to turn the next month’s goal into something more concrete.
