If you ask Carita I. what she does for a living, she'll talk about the numbers. Ask her why she does it, and she'll talk about the people. Born and raised in Brazil, she moved to the U.S. on her own after college. Now she's our Managing Director of Global Compensation and Recognition and believes every number tells a story. It's only fitting that Carita was recognized at our United 100 event this year, where 100 of our colleagues are celebrated by their peers for going above and beyond.

The after is so worth it. ✈️💪 Every year, our employees sign up to pull an ~actual plane~ 12 feet down the ramp. They're racing to see who’s fastest *and* fundraising for our partner, the Special Olympics. This year, United and our employees across our hubs helped to raise $1.38 million for our partners at the Special Olympics.

We're committed to building a more accessible airline, and some of those inclusive efforts are inspired by our employees' own experiences. ORD-based Flight Attendant Dalton G. grew up with family members who were part of the deaf community. His understanding of their challenges when flying sparked an idea: making pins available for flight attendants to indicate that they know ASL (American Sign Language).
