  • When others pulled out their phones, a TSA Federal Air Marshal stepped forward. After hearing a series of loud crashes, Federal Air Marshal Webster turned to see a vehicle had struck a fire hydrant. Water was rushing across the scene, and while bystanders recorded the event on their phones, nobody approached the wrecked vehicle to see if everyone was ok. He did. Despite the difficult conditions, Webster reached the vehicle and helped evacuate the driver. An elderly passenger was in pain, so rather than causing further injury, Webster stayed with him and waited until emergency responders arrived. Federal Air Marshals are trained to act when it matters... on an aircraft, in an airport, or wherever duty calls. Full story: https://lnkd.in/eC_GxJns

  • That dog you just spotted at the airport? Yeah, they’re probably on the clock. 🐾 TSA’s explosives detection canines work alongside their handlers every day to help keep you safe. They may look like very good dogs... and they definitely are... but when they’re on duty, these well-trained doggos are focused on an important job: sniffing out threats. They’re an incredibly important layer of security at airports, special events, and transportation systems across the country. And yes, we know you want to pet them (we do too!), but please admire these hardworking pups from a distance while they’re working. Traveling with your children or grandchildren? There’s still a way to bring a little K9 fun home: if their handlers have a moment, you can ask if they have one of their pup’s TSA K9 baseball cards. Good dogs. Serious mission. • Service deserves more than our gratitude. It deserves our support. On today’s VFW Day, we want to start by taking a moment to proudly honor America’s veterans who served our nation overseas and sacrificed to protect the freedoms we hold dear. From supporting military members and their families at the checkpoint to helping make their travel experience easier, across TSA, our commitment goes beyond just saying “thank you.” They’ve traveled the world in service to the USA, and we’re proud to serve them wherever their next journeys may be. ✈️ To learn more about dedicated military lanes at airports, TSA PreCheck benefits for servicemembers and veterans, and how we aid wounded warriors, visit: https://lnkd.in/ex4BvCpW #VFW #Military #Veterans #TSA

  • Airport security doesn’t stop at our borders. TSA is strengthening aviation security through our Airport Partnership Program, pairing Charlotte Douglas International Airport with Bermuda’s airport to share expertise, training opportunities, and best practices. By working together, airports around the world can learn from one another, strengthen operations, and help make the global aviation system safer and more efficient. Stronger partnerships. Smarter security. Safer skies.

  • From the checkpoint to the patent office. 💡 Innovation doesn’t always start in a lab. Sometimes, it starts with TSA employees on the front lines spotting a problem and building a better way to solve it. Our TSA team at LAX Airport turned an idea into an innovative new tool... and now they have a U.S. patent to show for it! “That is exactly what the Lift Program was designed to do – empower employees to identify challenges, test solutions and create tools that strengthen TSA operations,” said Vanessa Couch, TSA Lift Program Manager. That’s what happens when experience meets ingenuity. The people doing the job every day are helping shape the future of security. Full story: https://lnkd.in/eMTg-j6a

  • What is a Federal Air Marshal? Federal Air Marshals make up the quiet force keeping America’s transportation systems safe. Part of our team here at TSA, this elite group of law enforcement officers protect passengers and crew from potential threats on commercial flights. What makes them unique? ✅ Federal Air Marshals on flights blend in with everyday travelers. The goal is that you’ll never know if they’re there. ✅ They’re highly trained. Whether it’s firearms training, close-quarters combat, or crisis response, Federal Air Marshals are the ultimate pros. ✅ They’re collaborators, working in partnership with the @FBI and other federal partners + local law enforcement to prevent terrorist threats and criminal activity. ✅ Their mission extends beyond just planes, helping secure airports, rail systems, large-scale national events (you’ll see them at places like the Super Bowl or Mardi Gras... pictured below!), and more! America is safer because of their dedication and service!

  • New York has Broadway, Buffalo wings, Niagara Falls and some seriously busy airports. This New York Day, we’re celebrating our teams serving airports across the Empire State. From JFK, LaGuardia, and Buffalo to Albany, Syracuse, Rochester and beyond. Millions of journeys. Countless destinations. One workforce showing up every day to keep it all moving securely. New York brings the hustle. Any guesses on what busy airport this might be? ⬇️
