How Tokenization Actually Works on Stellar and Soroban
Tokenizing a rural bond means creating a digital asset that legally and economically represents the underlying receivable—say, a CPR backed by 5,000 bags of coffee.
On Stellar, issuing such an asset is remarkably efficient. Transaction costs are fractions of a cent, and settlement is near-instant. With Soroman smart contracts (Soroban), we can encode the entire logic of the bond: interest accrual, payment schedules, collateral conditions, and automatic distribution to token holders upon the sale of the harvest.
